Thigh on Summertime

Yes that might just be the most stupid title you’ve ever read, but it makes sense for two reasons:

  1. It’s the first day of summer! Holla!
  2. My thighs are killing me (thanks to this workout).

The weeks are seriously flying by! I can’t believe it’s nearly the end of June. I do so much every day that sometimes I don’t even know what day it is. Whew! A few fun moments this week included:

  • Team lunch at the Cheesecake Factory!


I ordered the Skinnylicious Spicy Chicken Salad. It was full of flavorful corn, tomatoes, beans and grilled peppers, and the vinaigrette was to die. BUT I hate the fact that the healthier options have “skinnylicious” in front of them. Dear all food companies: please do not make me sound like an a**hole when I order just because I want to make a better food choice.

  • Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers concert!


I went to this show last night, and needless to say I am very tired today. It was a great show, and I was glad to spend time with my dad, so no complaints here!

And finally, tonight I am visiting Hofbräuhaus tonight for the first time for my good friend Ian’s birthday. It’s safe to say that I am very excited for the evening!

A New Workout + Puffins

I come to you on this Wednesday morning regrettably without a true What I Ate Wednesday post but instead with an update on my new workout plan for the next few weeks.

It’s called prancercising.

Obviously, I’m kidding. Not saying that “prancing” can’t turn into a workout, but that’s not exactly my thing…

In actuality, I started a plan written by Jess over at Blonde Ponytail – her summer shape up! This morning I did a HIIT leg workout followed by a plank circuit.


This is my “I just rocked my legs and now I can’t breathe” look. But really, her workouts were killer! Go check out her plan.

Now I have two eats to share with you. One is coming at you from yesterday’s breakfast. Our team brought a special spread into work for our co-worker’s birthday! We had bagels, biscotti, fruit, and yogurt. I decided to have a blueberry bagel and a blueberry yogurt (I am sorry that I cheated on Cho), but I used the yogurt as a replacement for cream cheese. It was an excellent idea! Seriously, try it.


I also went shopping at Trader Joe’s and finally tried Peanut Butter Puffins. This could be the end-all cereal for me.

Shake That Thing

So, I got on to WordPress to write this post and was really confused by the way it looked. I guess they changed the platform design, and I totally wasn’t expecting it. When the look of a website changes, it totally throws me off for a minute.

In other news, I am feeling random tonight, so my post will be short and sweet so as to not bore/confuse/etc. you.

I took a Zumba class at my gym tonight with my friend Jess! I haven’t done Zumba in probably about a year, so it was fun to get back to it. We took Zumba toning, so there was a larger focus on strength movements. However, I didn’t feel that my weight (which was actually more like a morocco) was heavy enough. Either way, it was still fun to shake my groove thang. Cooling down to “Treasure” by Bruno Mars didn’t hurt, either. Love that song!


And in other other news, we found a large spider in my brother’s hiking boot in the garage the other night. It was one of the biggest spiders I’d ever seen. I found one of its babies crawling on our family room couch right before I sat down to write this.
