Happy Valentine’s Day!
Today, take some time to tell everyone you love – partners, friends, parents, siblings – how much you love them. But also… don’t forget to tell yourself.
This morning, I started my day out with some overnight oats! The first time I made them, it wasn’t love at first bite. After a few different tries, I slowly adjusted to their cold, thick texture, and now I’m head over heels!
I think that everyone has a mix/ratio of ingredients that they prefer, so I’ll share mine with you.
Overnight Oats, Nutty Life Style
- 1/2 c. Old-Fashioned Oats
- 3/4 c. Unsweetened Vanilla Almond Milk
- 3 Tbsp. Greek Yogurt
- 1 Tbsp. Chia Seeds
- 1/2 Banana mixed in
Mix all ingredients together and store overnight in the fridge. The next morning, stir. You may want to let them sit for a moment to take the chill off, or pop them in the microwave for no more than 10 seconds. Top with whatever your heart desires!
*Note: If you want yours a little thicker, add less milk than I do – maybe a half cup instead. This is just the texture that I like.
I ALWAYS add nut butter to the top of mine. It’s a must, in my opinion. 😉
I tried to be fancy today in honor of the holiday, but my strawberry and peanut butter heart could use some work. Let’s just say, “the picture doesn’t do it justice,” mmkay?
